Giannis Goumenopoulos studied law, specializing in sociology of law and constitutional law, at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of Trento in Italy. He received academic awards for excellence from the Greek State Scholarships Foundation and the Italian Institute. After his studies, he held senior positions in sales, marketing, strategic planning, and data protection in Greek companies.
For over 15 years, he was the Director of Greece’s largest legal publishing company, significantly contributing to the legal publishing sector. In 2016, he co-founded PRIVINTELLIGENT Sagl in Switzerland, specializing in GDPR compliance and DPO services, working on projects for major pharmaceutical companies across Europe. He also served as Project Director for IBSA in Switzerland.
After leaving PRIVINTELLIGENT Sagl, he founded GAGDPR, focusing on GDPR compliance for businesses and public sector organizations in Greece. He leads the company’s Health Team and manages external partnerships. Giannis is also the DPO at OMMA Ophthalmological Institute in Athens.
He is a frequent speaker at business and legal conferences on GDPR-related topics and trains professionals for the “DPO Executive” certification in Greece.
