Javier López is a Research Fellow at the University of Alicante (Spain) and a qualified lawyer admitted to the Spanish Bar Association. He is a PhD candidate specializing in international personal data transfers under the GDPR and the territorial application of digital laws. He is affiliated with the Global Innovation Law and Policy (GIP LAW) research group, serves as a substitute professor in Private International Law and Privacy Law, and provides consultancy through MP Legal Consulting. Javier is also affiliated with the THEIA project, co-funded by the EU under the Horizon Europe programme. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional – Europe (CIPP/E) and an ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer, with expertise spanning digital regulation, data protection, and information security.
